BIO

Tim Davies is a busy veteran of the scoring world. He has a wealth of credits under his belt as lead orchestrator and conductor, on hits spanning the worlds of film, TV, and games including Free Guy, The Mitchells vs the Machines, WandaVision, Halo Infinite, Frozen and Frozen II, The Lego Movie 2 and Lego Ninjago, Ant-Man and the Wasp, The Christmas Chronicles and Christmas Chronicles: Part Two, and Trolls. 

He has also parlayed this experience into repeated success as a composer, particularly for young heroes exploring fantasy worlds. One of his earliest scoring projects involved bringing to life the fantastic colorful world (and underworld!) of Jorge Gutierrez’s The Book of Life, with its gods and monsters. From there he went on to score the adventures of Jim Lake and friends in Netflix’s Trollhunters, who discover the hidden world of trolls underneath their suburban homes and are tasked with becoming its defenders.

Most recently he provided an award-winning score to Netflix’s Maya and the Three, whose young hero is the child of a human and a god and must reckon with all the gods of her world on her quest to protect her family. Tim has even visited Percy Jackson’s world before, when he orchestrated and conducted composer Christophe Beck’s score for The Lightning Thief.  For the End Titles, instead of just re-playing existing cues from the score as is often done, Beck asked Davies to arrange the themes in new ways. 

The excellence of these scores has been recognized with an Annie nomination for Trollhunters and a win for best score for Maya and the Three. Davies has also contributed additional music to other fantasy works, including a couple from Guillermo del Toro: the film Crimson Peak, and an episode of his new anthology series Cabinet of Curiosities.
