I left Australia 27 years ago and have worked overseas ever since, so it was an honor to get the call from Joel at Far Land Creative to write some arrangements for Parkway Drive at the Sydney Opera House.
The show was filmed and recorded and will be released soon. I was tasked with writing the big organ reveal, a short toccata to set up “The Greatest Fear”, and arranging the final number, “Wild Eyes.” For that one, I wrote an orchestral intro where the band all turned to watch the orchestra. Pretty cool moment. These are the fun bits – getting to add something new to music that stills feels familiar.
