Orchestration
It's been a busy few months contributing arrangements to a number of different shows, most headed up by my friend Jules Buckley. In May, Jules connected me with Jochen Neuffer who was putting together a show with Sophie Hunger and the Bern Symphony Orchestra. I contributed a couple arrangements to this concert. In June, Jules came to Washington, DC, with Anoushka Shankar for a concert with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center featuring tracks from her Grammy-nominated album Between Us.... I arranged the…

A bunch of projects that I worked on last year have been coming out in recent months. Make sure to follow me on Instagram for updates about all the projects I'm on! Shazam! Fury of the Gods was released on March 17. I conducted and was lead orchestrator for Chris Beck's epic score. It was a lot of music in a short amount of time but I am lucky to have some friends who also orchestrate to help out. Thanks to the crew at Chris's…

2023 already has plenty going on! On January 27th and 28th, Ne-Yo will be performing a show with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center. I was happy to be brought on as lead arranger for this show, continuing a long run of collaborations with the NSO at the Kennedy Center (it's been almost ten years now since the Nas Illmatic show!) There's plenty going on in the scoring world as well. We have been recording Chris Beck's score to the third Ant-Man movie…

Summer 2022 has been busy! This weekend (September 8!) Cars on the Road will debut on Disney+. This was one of the first projects to kick off the latest batch of new work. Jake Monaco scored this new series from Pixar, and I orchestrated and conducted. Prey also recently released on Hulu. I played a small role in helping with Sarah Schachner's score for this one shortly before we got into work on Cars. We got to make a lot of cool sounds, including some…

The 49th annual Annie Awards were announced on Saturday, and not only did Maya and the Three win as the overall best show in its category, but the score also won the award for Best Music - TV/Media! A big thank you to all the people who made this possible, from Gustavo Santaolalla for some excellent themes, to Jorge R Gutierrez for having me on board, to all the amazing musicians in Mexico, LA, and Australia that brought the score to life. A shout out…

Halo: Infinite is available at long last! The score was composed by Curtis Schweitzer, Gareth Coker, and Joel Corelitz. I was brought in by my friend Joel Yarger to conduct and to lead the orchestration and music prep team. Joel and I worked on many projects together in hIs time at Sony and it was a blast to be a part of his first 'little' project at Microsoft. Also contributing orchestrations were Jeremy Levy, Ryan Humphrey, and Lorenzo Carrano. Music preparation by Mark Cally. Give…

While I have been busy writing and orchestrating, I am an arranger at heart always try to squeeze in a few projects and have been lucky to work on some awesome ones recently. These have included two concerts for the BBC Symphony, one with Paul Weller, and another proms concert featuring Moses Sumney. Both were conducted and produced by my friend Jules Buckley. I arranged "Bless Me" and "Colouour." A highlight for me was getting to write for the mighty Royal Albert Hall Pipe Organ.…

I spent most of this year composing for Maya and the Three, but I still squeezed in a few orchestration gigs. First up is a unique project, and while I actually worked on it a while ago, it was just released. The film was Annette, from French director Leos Carax. I somehow ended up in Belgium teaching Simon Helberg how to conduct. Even crazier is that I am in a scene holding a poster of him with Adam Driver (highly unusual for an orchestrator)! It…

As if scoring three movies last year wasn't enough, Mark Mothersbaugh and his team also scored the video game Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart last year, with Wataru Hokoyama taking the role of lead composer. I got to orchestrate some truly wild music for this one. Check the soundtrack out for yourself! Not only was this with Mark, but it was a Sony game. My first professional orchestrating and conducing gig was for Sony and we have worked on something nearly every year since.
