Endre Granat Part 3

In Part III of my chat with Endre Granat, we discuss how the bow can be used to change the color of the sound. Sul Tasto and Sul Ponticello are demonstrated as well as how bow speed and pressure effect the sound.

Make sure you check out Part I and Part II of Endre’s interview and Guide to a Good Bow Job and It’s the Pizz.

    So helpful
I am recording early may with BRNO symphony a ballet I have been writing for the last 8 years
This site was suggested to me and I so appreciate what you are doing here.
I started with musescore and though I can easily now see the abominable practices of bad notation (or non practices of real notation) that I engaged in; I am nonetheless inspired by the possibility that I can evolve towards sharing with orchestral musicians my musical intent through better notation of the music I have carried inside for a lifetime. Music I did not understand I could share in this way. My score prep guy has acted as a defacto professor, bringing me along with extensive notes; but has also highly recommended your work here.
The gentle man sharing his techniques here is very clear and I will immediately begin using what he provides ie
the sounds we have all heard but then amazingly; a way to ask for that sound within an orchestration.
I will be listening to many more of these.
The French horn muting was also incredibly valuable.
What a resource you have created-are creating-here.! TY!
